Enrico Stropparo has a long initiated ceramic tradition in the studio of great potters. In 1972 he exhibited in the Biennale di Venezia and in 1973 in the Triennale di Milano. In the years he consolidated his interest fore a more basic materials (clays and fire clay) mixed with oxides and worked in intarsia. In this difficult technical exercise, the rational and aesthetic origins become softened by slight movements of the material and the gentle hues of colour that come simply from the natural tones of the earth itself. The lines of his early works sloowly became a kind of revisitation of historical characters in Venetian architecture but in a modern style. In 1989 he won the Faenza Prize at the International Competition of Ceramic Art in Faenza. Important artistic appointment in last years: International Ceramic Art di Taiwan, Contemporary Italian Ceramic at Arita-Sigaraki-Tokyo and Symposium of Italian Ceramic Sculptur in Pechino (Cina).
He attended the State Institute of Art in Nove. His first teachers were two of the most authoritative interpreters of the second generation of new ceramics in Vicenza: Alessio Tasca and Pompeo Pianezzola.
In 1969 he began to attend Tasca's workshop and in 1970 he enrolled in courses at the Venice Academy of Fine Arts, where Alberto Viani taught in the sculpture section.
His collaboration with Tasca led him to experiment mainly with "cotto" from which he made modular panels.
In 1972 he exhibited at the Venice Biennale and in 1973 at the Milan Triennale.
He began teaching in Nove, Venice, Schio and from 1974 at the I.S.A. in Cittadella. He still holds this last position of Artistic Disciplines.
In 1975 he consolidated his interest in the coarsest materials (clays and refractory materials) mixed with oxides and worked in "inlays".
In this sort of exploration of the limits of ceramic technique, Stropparo gained evident skills that were recognised with a first prize at the Munich-Germany Fair in 1982 and a personal exhibition in Trieste.
In 1983 he was awarded first prize at the Reggio Calabria Biennial and exhibited with Alessio Tasca. In the same year he was awarded the Competition Plaque at the 41st International Competition of Ceramic Art, Faenza.
In 1984 he won the Purchase Prize at the 42nd International Competition of Ceramic Art in Faenza - Museo Internazionale della Ceramica di Faenza.
In the 1980s he continued his exhibition activity and in 1987 he produced his first black slabs.
In 1988 he won second prize at the 3rd National Ceramics Competition in Savona.
In 1989 he devoted himself to the creation of unique pieces with a strong architectural character: Doors, Spheres, Altars.
In 1989 he won the Faenza Prize at the 46th International Competition of Ceramic Art in Faenza.
He took part in the ceramic events of Santo Stefano di Camastra, Gualdo Tadino, Savona, Castellamonte and was invited to "Terre Provocate" (Padua 1991 and Bologna 1992), to the International Exhibition of Ceramic Art in Taiwan (1992) and in the same year to the Esposizione Ceramiche Italiane Contemporanee in Arita-Sigaraki Tokyo.
In 2006 he exhibited a series of works on the theme of the bowl at Galleria Dieda in Bassano del Grappa, under the title "Superfluo".
